    Interview Summary
    Tilly Meyer, born in Stuttgart, Germany in 1912, describes her childhood; her memories of World War I; the rise of the Nazis and antisemitism; being deported to Poland in 1938 because of her Polish descent; her experiences in Poland after the Nazi invasion; her escape back to Stuttgart; and immigrating to the United States in 1940.
    On the video recordings, Tilly Meyer describes meeting her husband on the boat to the United States; building her life in America; and her visit to Stuttgart in 1987.
