    Irene White (née Platschek), born February 4, 1922 in Budapest, Hungary, discusses her childhood in Hungary; the onset of antisemitism; the occupation of Hungary by Nazi Germany in 1944; being deported to Auschwitz in June 1944; her encounter with Dr. Josef Mengele; her experiences in Auschwitz; her experiences in Plaszow labor camp, near Krakow; her experiences in Theresienstadt; the camp's liberation by Russian troops in May 1945; and immigrating to the United States in October 1948.
