    Interview Summary
    Paul Zentner, born in 1930, discusses his childhood in the Sudetenland, Czechoslovakia; the annexation of the area by Nazi Germany in 1939 and his family's flight to Prague; the family's being part of the first transports to Theresienstadt (Terezin) concentration camp; being separated from his parents; his experiences in Terezin, including his bar-mitzvah; his education in the camp; the visits from the Red Cross; the deception of the Nazis; the camera crews involved in filming what was likely a Nazi propaganda film (possibly "The Fuehrer Gives a City to the Jews"); his acquaintance with some of Terezin's more well-known inmates, including the composer Gideon Klein; his father's deportation to Auschwitz, where he perished; the liberation of Theresienstadt by Soviet troops; his return to Prague, Czech Republic with his mother after the war; and their subsequent immigration to Ecuador and then the United States.
