    Interview Summary
    The interview describes Ms. Boros's childhood in a small town on the Slovak/Hungarian border, which by 1938 was under Hungarian rule. She recalls her father being taken for forced labor, his death in 1940, and her grief for his loss. Ms. Boros describes her experiences in the ghetto of Solosz, where she and her family were taken in April 1944, and being transported to Auschwitz after one month in the ghetto. She describes her experiences while in Auschwitz, being moved with her sister to Germany to work at an airplane factory, and the death of her sister after their liberation. Ms. Boros discusses her marriage, her and her husband's desire to leave Eastern Europe and their immigration to Australia in 1950. Ms. Boros describes her wish to live in the United States, emigrating to the United States in 1952, where she gave birth to twins, and being joined by husband a year later.

    The Bay Area Holocaust Oral History Project conducted the interview with Eva Boros on December 11, 1991. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum received the tapes of the interview from the Bay Area Holocaust Oral History Project in December 2001.
