    Overview

    Description
Contains registers of war crimes trials held by French authorities at the Château de Rastatt near Baden-Baden in the postwar zone occupied by the French. The registers are arranged numerically and provide short summaries of each case that was brought to trial and the names of the presiding judges, the defendants, and the witnesses who testified. There are two “parallel” registers: the series of trials of the first instance (“en première instance”) and the series of these trials which were appealed. There currently is no finding aid with a list of the names of the persons tried. The call number AL-H5 is a Library call number used by the Archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Colmar for the Rastatt trials. The registers are arranged numerically.
