    A Russian woman, born in 1926, discusses her experiences in Bataysk (Rostov Oblast), Russia before and during WWII; the Jews and Romanies in Bataysk; the German occupation; the Jews of Bataysk trying to evacuate; working the same job before and during the occupation; the local Polizei; the deportation of forced laborers; receiving a warning from a friend about the impending deportations and going to her uncle’s home in another village; and her memories of living peacefully during the occupation.
