    Interview Summary
    A Russian woman, born in 1923 in Rodniki (Rostov Oblast), Russia, discusses her experiences in Zernograd (Rostov Oblast), Russia before and during WWII; the collectivization of agriculture; violence during the collectivization; her father’s refusal to join the kolkhoz in Rodniki and therefore all family’s belongings were taken and family was considered as kulaks; moving to Zernograd during the famine of 1933; the German occupation; working in a military hospital; the transport of forced laborers to Germany; the betrayals of the Polizei; the lack of violence during the German occupation, though there were violent events in nearby towns; the retreat of the Germans; and the Polizei who escaped trial.
