    Vera Soldatenkova, born in 1937 in Braslav, Belarus, describes moving to Druisk; a mass shooting of Jews by soldiers; the looting of Jewish belongings by soldiers; the arrest of her father and her mother; securing their release; and the work of her mother with a local partisan group to save a Jewish girl.

    This is a witness interview of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum's Perpetrators, Collaborators, and Witnesses: The Jeff and Toby Herr Testimony Initiative, a multi-year project to record the testimonies of non-Jewish witnesses to the Holocaust. The interview was directed and supervised by Nathan Beyrak. The interview was conducted with Vera Soldatenkova in Latvia for the Latvia Documentation Project on August 28, 2005. The interview was received by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives Branch in March 2006.
