    Katherine Nyak (née Brucher), born on April 15, 1908 in Dusseldorf, Germany, discusses her family; her father’s philanthropy; her early life; her father’s response to antisemitism; studying medicine at university; getting married; her two daughters, Rosamarie (born circa 1934) and Anne (born circa 1938), who were hidden during the war; hiding in cornfields in 1939; her deportation to Buchenwald concentration camp; living in Densberg displaced persons camp; working for Chaplin Fisher on the adoption by GI families of babies that had been with help from the Unitarian Church; immigrating to the United States in 1947; and becoming a doctor of osteopathy.
