    Biography
Theodore (Ted) Levite (1907-2002) was born on October 7, 1907 in Germany to Sigmund (b. 1863) and Marie (b. 1870, née Altman) Levite and had two siblings: Herbert (b. 1894) and Betty (b. 1898). Theodore immigrated to the United States from Germany in 1931 and settled in Pittsburgh where he worked as a salesman at Rosenbaum Company. In 1936, he returned to Germany to arrange for the immigration of Marie, Herbert, and Betty. He returned to the United States in 1936 followed by Herbert in January 1937. Marie and Betty received their visas shortly after Kristallnacht and arrived in the United States in November 1938. Theodore enlisted in the Army in July 1943 and served until September 1945. After his return, he married Margery Siver and moved to Birmingham, Alabama in 1952. Margery (or Marjorie) Siver (1911-1998) was born in 1911 in Pennsylvania to Frank and Margaret Siver and had two sisters: Dolores Garlick and Dorothy Khoury.
