    The concert was arranged by Danish singer Lauritz Melchoir, a member of the Metropolitan Opera Company, and sponsored by the National American Denmark Association, Norwegian Crown Princess Märtha, and Princess Margrethe of Denmark. Performers included principal artists of the Metropolitan.
