Overview
- Summary
- In 1939 Elisabeth Eidenbenz, a young teacher, opened a maternal hospital at Elne near Perpignan, France. Until it was closed by the Germans in April 1944, the maternal hospital at Elne allowed some six hundred children to be born and survive outside the concentration camps. The filmmaker has brought together children, mothers, and clinic workers to talk about their experiences at Elne.
