The Danube exodus by Péter Forgács ; music, Tibor Szemző.
Hungarian filmmaker Péter Forgács documents the Jewish exodus from Slovakia just before WWII. Forgács uses footage taken by the captain of a Danube cruise ship, Captain Nándor Andrásovits. Captain Andrásovits filmed Slovakian Jews desperate to escape the coming conflagration, travelling by way of the Danube River to the Black Sea and then to Palestine. As the war continues he begins to ferry other refugees, such as Bessarabian Germans fleeing to Germany.
