    Summary
    Lucy Mandelstam nee Drachsler was born on July 24, 1926 in Vienna, Austria. She lived under the Nazi Regime in Vienna from 1938 until 1942. Her father was sent to Dachau in 1939, and in September 1942 Lucy, her mother, and her sister were deported to Theresienstadt. They were sent to Auschwitz 1n 1944 and later to Stutthof, were she was separated from her mother and sister. During the death march from Stutthof, Lucy managed to escape and saw the end of the war in Danzig, where she was recovering from Typhus. Her story continues with the long journey to Israel via Italy and Cyprus, her service in the Israeli army, and her life with her first and second husband and three children.
