Without these notes, this document would not have been possible. Some notes have been reprinted exactly as recorded on the front lines; others have been expanded to provide continuity. Those of us who have survived front line combat find that; what we experienced in that irretrievable time is something we will always remember, but seldom discuss. Combat veterans can barely tell each other what it was, and find it futile to explain to others. Sometimes an unwillingness to talk or just silence, is out of respect for dead comrades. In this case, I have tried to spare the reader the gory details of war, but still report on what it was like to be a combat infantryman in front line action during WWII in the European Theater of Operations. 591 Record updated by Marcive processing 21 June 2024 600 10 Sharp, Jim. 610 10 United States. |bArmy. |bInfantry Regiment, 18th. |b1st Infantry Division. |bCompany B |vBiography. 650 0 World War, 1939-1945 |vPersonal narratives, American. 647 7 World War |d(1939-1945) |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst01180924 648 7 1939-1945 |2fast 655 7 Biographies. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst01919896 655 7 Personal narratives |vAmerican. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst01424071 655 7 Autobiographies. |2lcgft 655 7 Personal narratives. |2lcgft 852 0 |bscstacks |hD811 |i.S524 2010
