Summary: This study was published to celebrate the Year of Sugihara, announced in 2020 by the Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania. This was related to the 120th anniversary of the birth of Chiune Sugihara - the Japanese consul in Lithuania in 1939-1940 - who, by issuing Japanese transit visas, contributed to saving the lives of several thousand Jews, most of them Polish refugees from the occupied country.-- Provided by publisher.
