When a Ukrainian farmer agreed to hide the small family in his hayloft, no one dreamed that they would be there for almost two years. When the Russians liberated the area, the family was forced to leave their hiding place and join the advancing army. After the tragic death of Erna's mother, the girls and their father struggled for survival and to get home to France. Erna never spoke of her experiences to anyone for almost forty years until she heard a stranger's words of hate on the television. Faced with long-repressed memories, Erna had to learn how to cope with her past. 591 Record updated by Marcive processing 21 June 2024 600 10 Gorman, Erna. 650 0 Jewish children in the Holocaust |zUkraine |vBiography. 650 0 Holocaust, Jewish (1939-1945) |zUkraine |vPersonal narratives. 650 0 Holocaust survivors |zMichigan |zDetroit |vBiography. 650 6 Enfants juifs pendant l'Holocauste |0(CaQQLa)201-0285882 |zUkraine |0(CaQQLa)201-0500396 |vBiographies. |0(CaQQLa)201-0378258 650 6 Holocauste, 1939-1945 |zUkraine |0(CaQQLa)201-0500396 |vRécits personnels. |0(CaQQLa)201-0128307 650 6 Survivants de l'Holocauste |0(CaQQLa)201-0128408 |zMichigan |zDetroit |0(CaQQLa)201-0466087 |vBiographies. |0(CaQQLa)201-0378258 600 17 Gorman, Erna. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst01933193 650 7 Holocaust survivors. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst00958838 650 7 Jewish children in the Holocaust. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst00982706 651 7 Michigan |zDetroit. |2fast |1https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39QbtfRmxctFqhMGYPgp7R6TB |0(OCoLC)fst01205010 651 7 Ukraine. |2fast |1https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PBJkMMfGYRhk8WcWRp3xJjC |0(OCoLC)fst01211738 647 7 Jewish Holocaust |d(1939-1945) |2fast |1https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39Qhp4vB9Pg8WWKGbgjvXPmfy |0(OCoLC)fst00958866 648 7 1939-1945 |2fast 655 7 Biographies. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst01919896 655 7 Personal narratives. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst01423843 655 7 Personal narratives. |2lcgft 655 7 Récits personnels. |2rvmgf |0(CaQQLa)RVMGF-000000517 655 7 Autobiographies. |2lcgft 700 1 Kriigel, Barbara J. 776 08 |iOnline version:Gorman, Erna. |tWhile other children played. |dDearborn, MI : Voice/Vison Holocaust Survivor Oral History Archive, University of Michigan-Dearborn, ©2010 |w(OCoLC)737640231 852 0 |bscstacks |hDS135.U43 |iG6745 2010
