He and his family (wife and four children) lived in the village of Beulich, where he was known as "Siegfried the Jew". He inherited the cattle-dealing business from his father, and also functioned as a slaughterer, until he was forced to give up the business in 1935. In 1936 his two daughters were expelled from school. In May 1938 Forst was fined 1,100 RM for a supposed tax offense and his license was revoked. The Forst family tried to emigrate, without success. In 1942 they were deported to the East; nothing more is known about their fate. This study is based on interviews with some of his contemporaries (a number of those approached by the author refused to speak about Siegfried and his family). Some information was gathered from letters to his nieces, who lived in London from 1937. |c(From the Bibliography of the Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Antisemitism). 591 Record updated by Marcive processing 21 June 2024 600 10 Forst, Siegfried. 650 0 Holocaust, Jewish (1939-1945) |zGermany |zBrodenbach |vBiography. 650 0 Jews |zGermany |zBrodenbach |vBiography. 650 0 Cattle breeders |zGermany |zBrodenbach |vBiography. 650 0 Cattle trade |zGermany |zBrodenbach. 651 0 Brodenbach (Germany) |xEthnic relations. 600 14 Forst, Siegfried. 600 17 Forst, Siegfried. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst00504711 650 7 Cattle breeders. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst00849707 650 7 Cattle trade. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst00849732 650 7 Ethnic relations. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst00916005 650 7 Jews. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst00983135 651 7 Germany |zBrodenbach. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst01303988 |1https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39QbtfRvYWV3WFwKYqTbk9gTB 651 7 Brodenbach. |2gnd |0(DE-588)4617877-6 600 17 Forst, Siegfried. |2nli 650 7 Cattle breeders |zGermany |zBrodenbach |vBiography. |2nli 650 7 Cattle trade |zGermany |zBrodenbach. |2nli 650 7 Holocaust, Jewish (1939-1945) |zGermany |zBrodenbach |vPersonal narratives. |2nli 650 7 Jews |zGermany |zBrodenbach |vBiography. |2nli 651 7 Brodenbach (Germany) |xEthnic relations. |2nli 600 17 Forst, Siegfried. |2swd 650 07 Geschichte 1900-1945. |2swd 651 7 Juden. |2swd 647 7 Jewish Holocaust |d(1939-1945) |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst00958866 |1https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39Qhp4vB9Pg8WWKGbgjvXPmfy 648 7 1939-1945 |2fast 655 7 Biographies. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst01919896 655 7 Biographies. |2lcgft 655 7 Personal narratives. |2lcgft 758 |ihas work:"Wir sind doch ein Leut'" (Text) |1https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PCFBrdhP8jRqM3mrcYpWKwK |4https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/ontology/hasWork 852 0 |bscstacks |hDS135.G5 |iF554 2000
