- Ms. Schlant-Bradley discusses her book The language of silence: West German literature and the Holocaust. The author examines the literature of West Germany from 1949 to 1990, including the works of Heinrich Boll and Thomas Mann, in order to arrive at her thesis that the Holocaust is notable in German literature only through its absence. After her remarks, she answers questions from the audience.
