Chambon Foundation

Publication

Features the Chambon Foundation, a nonprofit educational foundation dedicated to documenting and honoring the rescue efforts of the residents in and around Le Chambon-sur-Lignon, France, who risked their lives to shelter 5,000 Jews, many of them children, from the Nazis. The website is organized around two major film projects by the Foundation's founder and president, documentary filmmaker Pierre Sauvage: the award-winning documentary Weapons of the Spirit about Le Chambon-sur-Lignon, and the upcoming documentary And Crown Thy Good: Varian Fry in Marseille. Electronic resources include photographs, biographies, book excerpts, and links to related websites and online articles. The site notes that the Foundation is based in Los Angeles, California. Posts contact information via mailing address, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail.
