La France divisée France divided / written, directed & produced by Barbara Barnett and Eileen M. Angelini.
During World War II, France was divided into the North under the Germans and the South under the Vichy government. Both areas deported Jews to concentration camps. In this video, historians and survivors of the Holocaust discuss the German occupation and why they believe that the Vichy government collaborated with the Germans. Includes a speech by French president Jacques Chirac given in July 1995, apologizing for this collaboration.
