She recalls her orthodox childhood; attending public school; membership in a Zionist organization; German invasion; round-ups and shootings; ghettoization with her family; hiding with her mother during round-ups; a mass killing in the Jewish cemetery; a non-Jew briefly hiding her brother's children; forced labor in a clothing factory; one brother's deportation; deportation with two brothers to Płasźow in September 1943 (she never saw her parents, eldest brother, and other relatives again); slave labor; transfer to Auschwitz/Birkenau in August 1944; torturous appells and selections; staying with women from Tarńow; transfer to Mühlhausen in November; working in a munitions factory; transfer to Bergen-Belsen in March 1945; becoming ill; liberation by British troops; reunion with her one surviving brother (the other died two weeks after liberation); living in Neufreimann displaced persons camp; assistance from UNRRA; marriage; her son's birth; emigrating to the United States in 1949 with assistance from the Joint; and her daughter's birth.
