He recalls attending a Jewish school; antisemitic harassment; German invasion; his father and brother fleeing toward the Soviet zone while he and his mother went to Iłża; all of them returning to Radom; anti-Jewish restrictions; his brother-in-law's killing; escaping from a deportation train; returning home with assistance from non-Jews; taking the identity of a person who had died; the transition of Radom from ghetto to camp; public executions; a forced march to Tomaszów Mazowiecki; deportation with his family to Auschwitz; transfer, with his father and brother to Vaihingen, then Unterriexingen; sharing food with each other; their transfer to Kochendorf; a death march to Dachau; receiving food from a German woman; train transport; abandonment by the guards; liberation by United States troops; moving with his brother to Garmisch; learning his sister and father had perished; reunion with his mother in November 1945; living in Prien displaced persons camp; and emigrating to the United States in 1948.
