William Braden Collection
- Collection Summary
- Amateur original film in color showing a prewar Nazi party event in Bad Zwischenahn, Germany which likely took place in conjunction with the annual Niedersachsentage, a type of folk festival, in 1937 or 1938. The town is decorated with Nazi symbols including flags, banners, garlands, and posters. Men from German military branches, the SS, and the Hitler Youth parade and congregate in the festival grounds. The Gauleiter, probably Carl Röver, greets the Nazis and delivers a speech. The two 16mm film reels were donated by Naomi Buck, whose uncle received them from his father, William Braden.
