    Description
    Footage shot by a German cameraman during Germany's occupation of Ukraine in World War II. Footage with German photographers traveling through the Ukraine photographing cities, villages, and collective farms. The most extensive footage is taken with a female photographer from her trip to Ukraine in the summer of 1943. She traveled by plane and car from southern Ukraine (the Melitopol region) just north of Crimea, then along the Dnepr River northward over Dnepropetrovsk to Kiev and then due west to Rovno and then the border of General Government.

MS Hairy oxen. 05:40:45 MS Huskies fighting, one boy whipping dog, VS of people and small dog. Local militia soldier with Red Cross on armband putting straw under truck wheel. MS of 2 children. 05:41:19 LS woman shining shoes of officer (very striking). 05:41:35 German civilian photographers (man and woman) and German officer lying in field. MS Gnus, MS and CUs of pigs. 05:42:02 VS Folk dancers. 05:42:08 AV Good shots of unidentified town. 05:42:54 Woman photographer in front of damaged church with civilian bearded older man wearing cap. 05:43:04 CU Sunflowers, MLS women walk thru field down path. MLS Carts roll by house, MS of house, German soldiers at riverbank. 05:44:05 LS then VS good shots of worksite footage, lunch break, women walking down road. 05:45:13 CU Old woman spinning cotton then with woman photographer. 05:45:44 Children in courtyard being looked after, boys at basin, boys and girls come toward camera. Children eating. 05:46:18 WS INT of what appears to be barracks or stable, many shirtless men standing in semicircle listening to German officer. 05:46:40 Shirtless soldier walking camel. Men marching. These may be local militia. 05:47:06 MS Group of SS cavalry squads, stables, young recruits, probably ethnic Germans being trained for combat on the front and in anti-partisan operations. 05:47:16 Young soldier with camels and photographer.
