SA in Rhine country
Titles are all in German. Title: "Parade in the mountains". SA march across a country bridge; trucks full of Nazis drive across the bridge. A few children run alongside the trucks. The camera moves closer and follows one truck full of SA men as they salute. Title: "S.A. march in the Nazi stronghold of Waldbroel." A crowd watches an SA parade down the street. Nazi banners hang from windows. Closer view of participants in the parades, including a focus on the flags they are carrying. Men in white shirts carry a sign that reads "NSBO," which stands for the Nationalsozialistische Betriebszellenorganisation. This was the Nazi organization that took over German trade unions on 2 May, 1933 at the decree of Robert Ley. Title: "Head by head the masses press to hear the words of the district leader, Landtagsabgeordneter Marrbach." [Fritz] Marrbach speaks in front of an open window. The camera switches to the crowd listening to the speech - the film is overexposed in parts so that some of the crowd appears blown out. Title: "Landtagsabgeordneter Marrbach: Our ideas succeed because hundreds of thousands are ready to lay down their lives for them." Marrbach is shown again briefly. Title: "Landtagsabgeordneter von Eltz-Ruebenach speaks." Ruebenach is shown - the camera is behind him and shoots him in profile with the crowd in front of him. Title, partly cut off: " In the Hitler movement, [??] the hand of all fellow Germans, without regard to name, denomination, or occupation!" Close up of Ruebenach speaking. Title: "Also on the same day a mass demonstration in Gummersbach!"
