Old and new testaments translated by Louis Segond into French from the original Hebrew and Greek texts. The bible was used by Pastor André Trocmé during sermons urging Le Chambon-sur-Lignon citizens to save Jewish people. It was given to him by his mother, Pauline Schwertman. The bible contains Pastor Trocme's original notations and marks for his sermons and personal use.
Written by Elizabeth Kaufmann Koenig (friend of donor) to the Trocme family, 1944, New York, after the liberation of France; describes how much Elizabeth misses them and tells of her new experiences as a recent refugee to the United States.
