Mendel Halberstam, who came from a rabbinical family, describes his pre-war Jewish life; life in the Sosnowiec ghetto; his experiences in many different concentration camps, including Auschwitz and Blechhammer; his survival by working as an electrician; being liberated at the Flossenburg concentration camp; and, after the war, joining his grandfather, who was a rabbi in New York City.
