The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the collection from the Archives départementales des Hautes-Pyrénées via the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum’s International Archives Project in May 2010.

Rights and Restrictions

Conditions on Access
This material can only be accessed in a Museum reading room or other on-campus viewing stations. No other access restrictions apply to this material.
Conditions on Use
Authorization from the Director of the Departmental Archives of the Hautes-Pyrénées required to duplicate microfilm reels for other archives. No publication of materials on the Internet, World Wide Web, or similar network without the permission of the Director of the Departmental Archives of the Hautes-Pyrénées. The judicial files are restricted until 2048 or 100 years after the file has been closed. However, attached to the electronic catalog record for the collection is a form that researchers may fill out and send to the Director of the Archives to ask for a “derogation” or special permission to see the restricted files. When written authorization has been received the files may be viewed for research. The researcher must adhere to French rules concerning protection of privacy and not mention the name of the persons concerned by the file or reveal personal details, nor reveal any information that might endanger state security.
