Oral history interview with James Kennedy
World War II veteran James Kennedy discusses his experience as a member of the 564th Field Artillery Battalion, 71st Infantry Division which participated in the liberation of Gunskirchen Lager, a concentration camp in rural Austria; conditions at the camp and the state of its former prisoners; his interaction with former prisoners who were suffering from disease and starvation; and how his time in the camp affected his view of the war and dedication as a soldier.
