    Interview Summary
    Betty Berman describes her early life in Łódź, Poland; the Nazi inavaion of Poland; her older brother's flight to Soviet-occupied Poland; how and when her family moved to the Łódź Ghetto in 1940; her parents' psychological and physical reactions to ghetto confinement; her family's deportation to Auschwitz in 1944; her experiences in Auschwitz, Bergen-Belson, and Salzwedal with her sister; her liberation by American troops; and her immediate post-war life.
