Sigmund Mermalstein describes hs deportation from Czechoslovakia to Auschwitz in May 1944; his experiences in a concentration camp in Warsaw, Poland; his transport to Dachau by cattle train; the conditions in Kaufering and Camp 2; Nazi efforts to dig mass graves in November 1944; liberation by the United States in April 1945; returning to Czechoslovakia in 1945; fleeing the communist regime in 1950; and his immigration to the United States in December 1951.
