    Interview Summary
    The interviewee, a Russian man born in 1927, discusses his experiences in Metchetinskii district, Rostov on Don, Russia (Metchetinskii was incorporated into Zernogradskii district in 1960) before and during WWII; the German officers headquartered nearby and their uniforms, including the hats of the SS Death Head (SS-Totenkopfverbände); and seeing the German, Romanian, and Italian soldiers on their way to Stalingrad.
