Maria Sava Moise, born on June 1, 1925 in Iasi, Romania, describes her Roma family; getting married in 1942 and seeing her father drafted into the Romanian Army; the Romanians rounding up her entire family and being forced on a march then transported by train to a farm where they stayed for several months; her sister’s death due to typhus; reuniting with her father and then her husband in 1943; and having settled down by 1945.
