Susana Urbanová, born in 1933 in Trebic, Czechoslovakia, describes her Jewish father; restrictions placed upon the Jewish community; having to wear a Star of David badge and being prevented from attending school; the establishment of a Jewish ghetto; her mother's decision not to divorce her father; her father losing his job; the registration of the Jewish community in 1939; deportations of the Jewish community in 1942; Gestapo members destroying items in her family's apartment; her father's arrest in 1943 and his death in Auschwitz; the liquidation of Jewish owned belongings and sale of Jewish owned homes; and the return of some Jews to the area after the war.
