George Barlaz papers

Letters and photographs pertaining to the history of the Barlaz family who stayed in Dubno, Wolhynia, Poland. George Barlaz (donor's father, born Gershon Mendel Barlaz) emigrated from Poland in 1923 and these are pieces of correspondence from his family and his search for any surviving family members. Includes school records and related documents for Gershon Barlaz from Odessa, 1915-1918, from other family members in Poland, 1920s, including correspondence and forms related to planned immigration to Palestine, and extensive correspondence in Yiddish from 1930s through the 1950s, and documents related to efforts to assist family members with immigration to the United States in the 1940s.
