Provenance: The interview with Vessa Moncheva and Nedjalko Chalburo was conducted on October 15, 1993 by Roy and Anne Freed as part of a project documenting the testimonies of individuals who witnessed the Bulgarians' frustration of the Nazi demand for the deportation of their 50,000 Jews. The interview was received by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in January 1994.
