Contains a German passport ("Deutsches Reich Reisepass") issued to Mina Loeffler (mother-in-law of donor's cousin), March 1941, Vienna, Austria. Issued by Chief of Police, Vienna, Germany (Austria); letter "J" stamped in red ink; middle name "Sara" added; contains official stamps allowing travel through Spain and Portugal; contains immigration visa for the United States dated May 19, 1941.

The envelope was sent by a member of the Jewish refugee community in Shanghai, China, to Otto Loeffler "husband of donor's cousin" in New York.
Kurt Grübler papers
Document
The papers consist of a pamphlet issued by the United States Office of War Information entitled "Tale of a City" about the occupation of Warsaw, Poland, by Nazi Germany as well as birth, baptismal, and marriage certificates issued by Catholic churches in Austria and Germany and used by the donor's family to prove their Aryan ancestry.
