    Provenance
Joanna Bergez donated the collection to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives on Sep. 30, 2003. She obtained it from an uncle, Ernest Parks, who obtained it from the original owner's sister, Elizabeth Flaucher, in Germany in the late 1950s. Ernest Parks was a US Army officer stationed in Germany and befriended Ms. Flaucher, who gave him her brother's book upon his departure. The original owner, Hans Flaucher, had been killed during the war.
