    Interview Summary
    Renee Tully discusses her childhood in Breslau, Germany (now Wrocław, Poland); her subsequent experiences in Berlin, Guatemala, and France; her education; her experiences in Paris, France after the German invasion in 1940; using false papers; her issues with identity during this period; her arrest and deportation to Drancy with her mother; their transfer to Auschwitz in May 1944; her attempts to escape during the journey by train; their experiences in Auschwitz; their transfer to an unnamed labor camp in Czechoslovakia; the work she performed and her liberation by the Soviet Army; returning to Paris; her immigration to Guatemala in the late 1940s; her move to the United States in 1954; and her life in the US.
