J. George Mitnick collection

Consists of one letter, 5 pages, written by J. George Mitnick on April 13, 1945, upon the liberation of the Ohrdruf concentration camp. In the letter, Mitnick describes the conditions of the camp and tries to impart on his friends and family the horrors of what he has seen. Also contains one letter, 5 pages, written by Julius Levy on May 30, 1945, from the Linz Displaced Persons camp. Mr. Levy, a Polish Jew, addresses his letter to his liberators and explains his story, begging them to allow him, having lost everything in the war, to be transferred to an Allied hospital to recover and to begin a new life for himself.
