Oral history interview with Jerry Milrod

The interview describes Mr. Milrod's childhood in Warsaw, Poland; the family's move to Palestine in 1925 and their return to Warsaw in 1926; the antisemitism he witnessed during the early 1930s; and the changes he experienced after the war began in 1939. He describes his flight to Lithuania with his brother; the transit visas they received from Consul Chiune Sugihara; their arrival in Kobe, Japan in December, 1939; and their immigration to Shanghai, China in 1941. Mr. Milrod discusses his life in Shanghai in the Hong Kew ghetto, his immigration to the United States in 1948, and his life in San Francisco.
