    Interview Summary
    Johveta Incuriene discusses her experiences in Kaunas, Lithuania during the Holocaust; her family's transfer to the ghetto in 1941; the sufferings they endured; her decision to leave the ghetto; her defiant attitude; her many movements in and out of the ghetto; the many friends and acquaintances in Kaunas and in the countryside who hid her during these years; the dangerous encounters she had with Lithuanian and German police, soldiers and guards; marrying; her mother's death in Estonia; her father's death in the ghetto; and her return to Kaunas after the war to find that the Jewish population had been decimated.
