Joachim Schapira discusses his experiences in Munich, Germany as a child and as an adult; his family life, his education, and his family's religious practices; the changes he experienced after the Nazis came to power, particularly the antisemitism and his near-expulsion from Germany because of his Polish citizenship; immigrating to Great Britain in 1939; going to the United States in 1940; reuniting with his wife and daughter; and his life in the US during and after the war.
