    Petru Perciun, born in Parcani, Romania (present day Moldova) in 1929, discusses seeing convoys of Jews from the surrounding area passing through his village; how locals attempted to help the passing convoy; recognizing family friends; anti-Jewish violence by guards; and the fate of the Jewish families who fled the village before German forces arrived.

    This is a witness interview of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum's Perpetrators, Collaborators, and Witnesses: The Jeff and Toby Herr Testimony Initiative, a multi-year project to record the testimonies of non-Jewish witnesses to the Holocaust. The interview was directed and supervised by Nathan Beyrak, and it was conducted in Moldova for the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, Moldova Documentation Project on August 11, 2004. The interview was received by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives Branch in May 2005.
