Pair of red leather toddler's shoes worn by a child in Łódź Ghetto

Pair of red leather toddler's shoes that belonged to Lea Kufert, who was born in December 1938 to Yitzkhak and Fridl. The family was deported from Berlin, Germany, to the Łódź ghetto in Poland in 1939. Lea died there that year. Fridl was deported to Chelmno killing center and murdered in 1942. Yitzkhak died in the Łódź ghetto in 1944. The shoes were sent to relatives in Palestine.
