    Interview Summary
    Dimitrios Tsilividis, born in 1927 in Volos, Central Greece, describes his experience as a Christian during the German occupation; his family’s house on Thoukididou street, close to the Jewish neighborhood; his father, who was a coppersmith and had a small shop; their close Jewish neighbors; his best friend Albertos Politis; the Jewish students at his school; being a boy scout; Hermou Street which was the main shopping street at that time and the Jewish stores there; the Italian occupation and then the German occupation; the conditions under the Germans; the prevalence of starvation; the Germans requiring Rabbi Moisis (Moses) Pesah, to produce within 24-48 hours a list of all the Jews in Volos; the alert to all the Jews to leave immediately; the relocation of many Jews to Athens or the surrounding villages; the deporation of the remaining Jews in March/April 1944; and the protection of many of the Jews by the national resistance movement.

    This is a witness interview of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum's Perpetrators, Collaborators, and Witnesses: The Jeff and Toby Herr Testimony Initiative, a multi-year project to record the testimonies of non-Jewish witnesses to the Holocaust.
