    “Politik im Walde” [Politics in the forest]. Göring in the forest in red leather pants with the British Ambassador Nevile Henderson. They stand by two trees. Göring takes something off the street and puts it down on a bench. They talk. Göring stands with his hands on his hips.

    “Agfa 1938” Color. Large estate in the forest. Göring’s Carinhall in the Schorfheide forest. A bronze sculpture of a woman sits atop stone blocks in an entryway. Stone arches. Plants. Scenes inside the house: artwork, maid. The trees outside shot through the arches. A garden surrounded by a walking path, decorated with marble statues. A light fixture and small sculpture by the lake. Flower boxes along a row of windows on the side of the house. The surrounding landscape. Covered boats in the water. White table with four chairs in the courtyard, row of rosebushes. Two marble statues in the BG. EXT of the property. Red and white striped shutters frame the many windows. Antlers are displayed in between some of the shutters. Dog in the FG. Franz von Stuck’s “Kämpfende Amazone” sculpture in fountain on the property, the lodge in the BG. Surrounding scenery. Classical style statues in a row along a path. Lake with a small boathouse on the water. Classical sculpture on the property. INT art hanging on the walls of the house, salon-style. Women walk through. Three women sit at a table playing cards.

    11:19:28 Black and white film of sheep running in the forest. Two men hold a mouflon sheep by the horns and shove it into a box. Another man holds what looks like a polled female mouflon sheep around his shoulders. 11:19:53 “Idyll in der Schorfheide.” This is in the Schorfheide forest, where Carinhall was built. Red deer grazing in the woods in winter.

    Film Provenance
    Karl Hoeffkes has collected over 2,000 hours of rare original film material documenting the period from 1925 to 1946. The collection consists of mostly amateur footage in both black and white and color that focuses on Europe during the pre-war and mid-war periods. The United States Holocaut Memorial Museum entered a cooperative agreement with Agentur Karl Hoeffkes in April 2015 which enables the Museum to provide access to the entire AKH archive and use the material for future exhibitions, research and scientific purposes, and publications.
    Note
    Carin was Goering’s first wife and he named many things after her.
