Seitel and Knoll families collection

Collection of documents and correspondence; includes elementary school report cards for Frieda Knoll (donor’s mother), born March 3, 1915 in Nadwórna, Poland, dated c. 1920-1926; a military certificate issued to Chaim Ele Seitel (donor’s father), born June 3, 1909 in Nadwórna, dated c. 1931; correspondence between Chaim, in Krakow, and Frieda, in Nadwórna, dated 1936-1938, in Yiddish; correspondence from Knoll and Seitel families in Nadwórna, to Chaim and Frieda Seitel in Kibbutz Ein Ha’Yam in Palestine, in Yiddish, German and Polish, dated 1939-1941; receipts for donations to Zionist organizations by Frieda Knoll in Nadwórna; and Ketubah and marriage certificate dated July 31, 1934 in Nadwórna. Also includes photographs depicting the Seitel and Knoll families in Nadwórna and group portraits of “Dror Freiheit” Zionist Socialist organization at different locations in Poland, dated 1933-1938; images of the group working at the lumber yard in Nadwórna; and photographs given to Chaim and Frieda on the occasion of their emigration to Palestine.
