    Steffi Goodman, born in Berlin, Germany, discusses being forced out of public school circa 1937; Kristallnacht; Kennkarte (identification card); radio confiscation; having papers to leave via Italy, but the plan falling through because of politics; leaving Germany on a train to Portugal in February 1941; and leaving on one of the last ships to the United States.
